The winter undercoat from beneath the shaggy American bison is wonderfully soft pure bison down. The terrific staff of Buffalo Gold painstakingly remove the rough guard hairs & combine the velvety down with a touch of nylon for sensationally versatile "Buffalo Gold #4." Then they entrust their precious fiber to nationally known spinner, master weaver & fiber artist Judith MacKenzie McCuin for the final touch -- dyeing this yarn gem in a variety of luscious hues. Beautifully crafted & hand-dyed in the USA of 90% bison & 10% nylon.
Please Note: Since all hanks are hand-dyed in batches no larger than four, the manufacturer recommends you alternate hanks for multi-hank projects and enjoy the discovery process of knitting & crocheting with hand-dyed fibers. Also keep in mind that the original yarn is a medium brown so that the over-dyeing process usually darkens the shades of blue, purple, green, etc.
