The 78% linen and 22% nylon composition of GGH's "Safari" yarn makes it a different type of lightweight, single-ply yarn with a suede look and feel. The linen is wrapped around a nylon core, creating a yarn with more yardage than usual for a 50-gram ball. Works well for summerweight garments and sturdy accessories.

Although generally smooth and suedelike there are bristly dark fibers protruding fairly frequently. The smooth fiber comes unwound in places and is puffy. Has the drape of linen when knit.
