This is a great go-to yarn for a great deal of my color work. I love its softness for hats and mittens, and love the depth of the colors. Really gorgeous colors.
This yarn WANTS to felt. Felters use it a lot, for that reason. But those of us who are not felting need to wash items made in this stuff very, very carefully. Cold water and GENTLE. I wouldn't use the sweater cycle on your washer for this, folks.

Last night while watching the OLYMPICS-Vancouver 2010, I started a crocheted lapghan using 2 colors of GALWAY plus Lion Brand Fishermen's, both 100% wool yarns. Together is looped mohair/ wool variegated fuchsia/purple strand for stripes, wide & narrow, repeated in symmetrial design, 26 x 45 in. Galway is SOFT, beautiful feel & easy to work up with K hook. Lovely 2 Galway colors: Brown(152) & Bright Pink(125) with Oatmeal (tan). I bought Galway skeins on sale at my favorite on-line yarn shop, Discontinued Brand Name Yarns--all gone now. Would certainly BUY again for more crocheted projects. I'm REALLY PLEASED with these colors of high quality of yarn.
