You can't go wrong with a classic! I made an interesting scarf for a friend of my daughters out of the Cleckheaton Merino in red, white and black, which I'll share with you. I cast on 12 stitches of the black and worked a simple (and very thin) k1p1 rib stitch until it was the length I wanted, then tied off. I did the same with the red, then, again with the white until I had three long, skinny strips of ribbed knitting. I secured the three strips, side by side, and braided then together, using an embroidery needle to fasten at either end. It was such a hit!
