Soft with enough twist so crocheting with COTLIN using G hook was a breeze! I've made 4 similar narrow scarves & I love the Moroccan Red (23996) the BEST--deep red! I used 1 1/2 skeins 50 gr/123 yd for 4-in. wide scarf. Others were Nightfall (23991)-navy blue, Desert Turquoise (23990) & Royal Plum (23997)-purple --all crocheted 3 in. wide scarves, so 1 skein each. It's 70% cotton/ 30% linen for $2.79/skein--WOW! 1st time ordering from Knit Picks website in May '09. I was so PLEASED I sent an e-mail immediately after opening the large box! For sure I'll be ordering from website many times for great selections & bargain prices!
